ABOUT | Amy Evans

I am a Melbourne based architect currently researching the relationship between the social and urban fabric of cities. As well as research and design work, I teach design studios at both the University of Melbourne and RMIT.

As an architect, my practice often explores the overlapping relationship between architecture, art, and design. I frequently explore art projects, curating and designing exhibitions, teaching, writing and publication editing.

Last year I was awarded the Marten Bequest Traveling Scholarship for Architecture. My project titled ‘The City Shaped’ explores architectural form, culture and city fabrics through a series sculptural works in five selected cities. Series One of the project examined Melbourne’s Hoddle Grid and was exhibited as part of NGV’s Melbourne Design Week in March, 2020. The subsequent series in this project (series 2 - 5) are planned for 2022 and 2023.
